// What is Watt

What is Watt

A 1st year project experimenting with light and photographic film.

We have all made the mistake of opening the back of the camera before winding back the film, I wanted to see the images I could produce from this process, without any light having ever traveled through the lens to the film. I have taken three different watt bulbs. A 35 watt energy saving bulb, a regular 60 watt bulb and a red fire-glow 60 watt bulb. The three images shown above are the exact frames when the light was exposed to the film for all 3 bulbs. The aim was to find out how different sources and strengths of light can effect the film, would the reaction always be the same.

The entire length of film No.3 - 60 Watts red bulb. Showing the exact point where the film was exposed to the light source at frame 18 (highlighted), allowing us to see the light traveling in either direction of the film.
