Eisoptrophobia - an abnormal and persistent fear of mirrors. Exploring the fear certain individuals suffer from sleeping in a room with mirrors, evoking a sense of being trapped in an unfamiliar environment; the mirror offering a glimpse into an imaginary space.

By placing these mirrored sheets of metal between parts of the body, we were able to create this distorted image of a person, which we then photographed and photocopied on to acetate sheets in order to project the images back though mirrors on Over Head Projectors

For the final piece we took the projections into a bedroom,highlighting the context of the phobia. Rather than projecting the images straight on to the wall they are directed into a mirror in front of the bed and reflected back towards the wall, amplifying the uncomfortable confusion the mirror provides. The shot was then taken looking into another mirror, confusing the viewer even more to what is really going on.
